Potato salad: every family and restaurant in the land seems to have there own version and each recipe seems to be a little different.

I promise that you have not truly enjoyed potato salad until you have tried out my own special version of this American favorite.

I had a great friend in college and we loved to cook together, and she introduced me to a recipe that was simply irresistible.

I have looked long and hard to find a better potato salad recipe, there are simply not any out there. So give this one a try, I have also included some other of my favorite ways to make this easy and tasty side dish.

Worlds Best Potato Salad Recipe

I say the worlds best because I have never found a version out there that can beat the flavor that this special blend of ingredients brings to your table.

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1 Cup Mayonnaise

  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar

  • 1 Teaspoon sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Few dashes of paprika

  • Small amount of yellow mustard

Main Ingredients

  • 5-6 Medium sized long white potatoes

  • One large dill pickle, finely diced

  • ½ cup of finely diced onion

  • 1 cup of finely diced celery

  • 3 Hard boiled eggs, cooled and finely diced

Cooking Instructions

  • Cook 5-6 medium sized potatoes, boil until very soft all the way through, set aside to cool

  • Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 ½ teaspoonssalt, ¼ teaspoons black pepper, pinch of paprika, small amount of mustard together until all ingredients are well mixed

  • Additions; One by one, fold each of the following ingredients into the sauce, diced dill pickle, ½ cup diced onion, 1 cup diced celery, 3 hard diced hard boiled eggs

  • Dice the cooled potatoes fold into the sauce mixture, sprinkle more paprika, add mustard to taste

  • Set aside to chill for 2 hours for best results and taste

They key to this recipe is following the above directions as closely as possible. The amazing taste in this dish all comes from the unique way these basic potato salad ingredients are combined. Enjoy and pass on, it is really the best potato salad recipes out there!

Quick and Easy Version Of An American Classic

Simple and easy!

Ingredients

  • 4 Large Eggs

  • 4 Long White Potatoes

  • ½ Stalk Celery

  • ½ Cup mayonnaise

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Pinch of Pepper

  • 1 Clove garlic, finely minced

  • 2 tablespoons deli mustard

  • ¼ cup relish

Cooking Instructions

  • Fill a large pot about ¾ of the way full with water, add salt, and bring to a boil

  • Add 4 long white potatoes and boil for about 15 minutes (Make sure not to overcook, want them still slightly firm!)

  • Drain potatoes and chop into small pieces by halving the potatoes then chopping them into smaller pieces

  • Place 4 eggs in a small saucepan with a tight fitting lid, add enough water to cover the eggs

  • Bring water to a boil and then cover and remove from heat

  • Leave eggs covered in the hot water for about 11 minutes

  • Remove from hot water, peel the eggs, and chop them into small pieces

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the potatoes, eggs, celery, garlic, mustard, relish, mayo, and add salt and pepper to taste

  • Slowly stir ingredients until well mixed, serve warm

Southern Twist On Potato Salad- Everything Is Better With Bacon!

If you sick of the same old traditional potato salad recipe, give this one a try. You might just be pleasantly surprised!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs red skinned potatoes

  • 6 large eggs

  • 2 cups mayo

  • 1 white onion, finely chopped

  • 1 Stalk celery, finely chopped

  • 1 lb bacon

Cooking Instructions

  • Fill a large pot about ¾ of the way full with water, add salt, and bring to a boil

  • Add 2 lbs Red Skinned Potatoes and boil for about 15 minutes (Make sure not to overcook, want them still slightly firm!)

  • Drain potatoes and place in the refrigerator to cool before chopping

  • Place 6 eggs in a small saucepan with a tight fitting lid, add enough water to cover the eggs

  • Bring water to a boil and then cover and remove from heat

  • Leave eggs covered in the hot water for about 11 minutes

  • Remove from hot water, peel the eggs, and chop them into small pieces

  • In a large skillet cook 1 lb bacon over medium heat and set on plates with paper towels to absorb excess grease

  • Once bacon is cooked and cooled, crumble into small pieces

  • Chop the cooled potatoes into small cubes. Combine potatoes, bacon, celery, onion, eggs, and may mayo. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir slowly until evenly mixed. Chill before serving.
